Building Digital Worlds Since 2019
From a small Brisbane studio to Australia's premier 3D game level design education platform — here's how we've grown alongside the gaming industry itself.
The Foundation Years
What started as weekend workshops in a repurposed warehouse quickly grew into something bigger. Back then, Australian game development was experiencing unprecedented growth, but education hadn't caught up. We noticed talented artists struggling to transition from traditional 3D modeling into the specific demands of interactive level design. Our first cohort was just twelve students — mostly freelancers and recent graduates looking to specialize. Those early sessions were hands-on and intimate, focusing on the fundamentals that many bootcamps overlooked: spatial psychology, player flow theory, and the technical constraints that make or break a level's performance.
Expanding Horizons
By 2021, we'd moved into our current Robina facility and expanded our curriculum significantly. The pandemic actually accelerated interest in game development careers — suddenly everyone understood the value of digital entertainment. We launched our intermediate and advanced tracks, covering everything from procedural generation techniques to multiplayer map optimization. Our partnership with several Brisbane indie studios began this year, creating direct pathways from classroom to career. We also started our virtual reality level design specialization, recognizing early that VR would need entirely different approaches to spatial design and user comfort.
Recognition and Growth
This year marked several major milestones. We received accreditation from the Australian Skills Quality Authority, validating our curriculum design and teaching methodologies. Our graduates began landing positions at major studios like Team Cherry and SMG Studio, proving that focused, practical education could compete with traditional computer science degrees. We also launched our remote learning options, allowing students from Darwin to Perth to access our programs. The addition of our industry mentorship program connected current students directly with working professionals, creating networks that extend far beyond graduation.
Looking Forward
The next phase isn't just about expanding — it's about deepening what we do best. We're developing specialized tracks for emerging technologies like neural radiance fields and AI-assisted level generation, while maintaining our core focus on fundamental design principles that won't become obsolete.

"What excites me most is watching students discover they can shape how players experience digital spaces. It's not just technical skill — it's understanding human psychology, architectural principles, and storytelling through environment. That's what we've built here, and that's what we'll continue to refine."
